Robin Turner

Some say she came
straight out of the mind of fire

searching for demons,
a transformed sister trying

to find her way. She is
a fish in a tree, a shadow

on the Koyukuk, a sketchbook
of broken glass. She is dark

magic planning, a prized
possession, a note

from an old friend, a gurney.
She is shy and doesn’t talk to people.

Until someone casts a spell.
